The fetal alcohol syndrome is caused when mother gets exposed to alcohol during pregnancy. This causes brain damage and also growth related problem. There is no amount of alcohol has been considered as safe for consumption for pregnant mothers. Hence drinking alcohol in pregnant condition put the developing fetus at risk.
